Call for Proposals for Professional Development Workshops (PWDs) at RENT XL in Antwerp on 18 November 2026 is open. Submit a proposal by 1 July 2026.

Professional Development Workshops are interactive, skills-focused sessions held on the pre-conference day at RENT. They bring together researchers to share knowledge and build practical, professional and intellectual skills in a dialogical format.

About the Professional Development Workshops

Professional Development Workshops (PDWs) are part of the RENT pre-conference day programme since 2015. PDWs are workshops to share knowledge and expertise, and foster the practical, professional and intellectual skills of participants. PDWs need to have a clear theme and target group, as well as deliver a high level of learning by giving the participants some clear ‘take-aways’. The format of a PDW should be dialogical and interactive, so no presentation of papers will be possible in these sessions. Apart from the professional development side, these PDWs should also promote networking among members who may not otherwise meet.

The PDWs have a set timeframe of 2 hours and will be scheduled as afternoon sessions in the pre-conference day on 18 November 2026. Applicants choose the session format, but PDWs have typically a maximum of 30 participants.

Application process

The proposals should be sent by email to Professor Martina Battisti by 1 July 2026.

All entrepreneurship related topics will be considered. However, due to facility restrictions, the Scientific Committee will screen proposals and select those we believe have the broadest appeal for delegates.

There is no set structure for the proposals but please state clearly who the organizers of the PDW are, the importance of the proposed theme, the format you will use, the target audience and the takeaways from the workshop for participants.

Participation Fee

Participation in PDWs is free, but participants need to be registered for the conference in order to join.
