PDW Embedding a Multidisciplinary Approach to Entrepreneurship Education –Stakeholder Approach and Institutional Practice
January 28, 2026 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm UTC+1

Overview
Embedding a multidisciplinary approach to entrepreneurship education (EE) remains a complex and evolving challenge for entrepreneurship educators who are still grappling with how to extend EE beyond business and management disciplines. This interactive PDW introduces a Stakeholder Engagement Methodology (SEM), drawing on Stakeholder Management Theory (SMT) and the Interest–Influence Matrix to demonstrate how a multidisciplinary approach to EE has been successfully embedded at the University of Liverpool (UK).

Through facilitated discussions, participants will critically explore the challenges and opportunities of embedding a multidisciplinary EE, reflect on institutional bottlenecks, evaluate effective practices, and collaboratively identify practical strategies for fostering  impactful EE that goes beyond the boundaries of business and management disciplines.

Key discussion questions:

  • What are the main barriers to embedding multidisciplinary EE?
  • What does effective practice look like in diverse disciplinary contexts?
  • How can institutions systematically engage key stakeholders to develop, design and embed a multidisciplinary EE?

Benefits to participants

  • Explore how to navigate institutional bottlenecks and leverage enablers.
  • Learn how to adapt and embed EE across multiple disciplines.
