SUMMARY:ECSB Webinar by SocChange SIG - “Entrepreneurship and Social Change"
DESCRIPTION:We are thrilled to invite you to the first webinar of the ECSB SocChange SIG in which we discuss how we frame entrepreneurship for social change\, and for whom and with what effects. We will further evaluate the potential of entrepreneurship for creating change for individuals\, communities\, and society with its transformative power that can lead to sustainable futures\, but we also critically stress on occasions that entrepreneurship also creates social inequalities and become unproductive. \nYou will hear from our three speakers\, Claire Champenois (Audencia Business School\, France)\, Steffen Korsgaard (University of Southern Denmark\, Denmark)\, and Frank Janssen (UCLouvain\, Belgium) (co-founders of the “SocChange” SIG)\, how they understand and study social change in the context of entrepreneurship and you will ask your questions and share your opinions on this topic. \nWebinar setup: Panel format. The webinar will last for an hour. Each speaker will discuss the topic for 10 minutes\, then we will continue with a Q&A session. SUMMARY:ECSB Conference Goes Online
DESCRIPTION:ECSB is launching a new initiative – ECSB Conference Goes Online! \nWhy? Presenting one’s research and receiving feedback on it is important for advancing in our research. However\, attending conferences in person is not always an option for all. For this reason\, ECSB launches a new initiative – ECSB Conference Goes Online. The first edition will be held on 12 February 2025 between 1pm and 5 pm (CET). \nFor whom? The ECSB Conference Goes Online is targetted to our existing members (with a valid membership on 1st October). In the selection a priority will be given to those authors who have not had their paper presented in our recent conferences (3E2024 or RENT2024). \nHow? Submit your abstract (900 words) to ecsbonline@utu.fi by 9 December. In the e-mail include also 1-2 sentences why you are interested in presenting at this online conference. Presenting and participating the conference is free-of-charge for ECSB members. \nWhat? In addition to the approx 12-16 paper presentations accepted in the programme\, we are honoured to have a Keynote from Professor Robert Blackburn from University of Liverpool Management School entitled “Young People & Entrepreneurship: precarious futures or routes to fulfilment?”
