SUMMARY:11th Effectuation Conference
DESCRIPTION:Effectuation theory and practice continue to inspire a global community of researchers\, educators\, and practitioners who study\, teach\, practice\, and support entrepreneurship under uncertainty. Building on ten years of lively and highly interactive gatherings\, we invite you to join us for the 11th Effectuation Conference on November 15-17\, 2026\, hosted by the University of Antwerp (Antwerp\, Belgium) and co-branded with ECSB. \nAs we mark a quarter-century since Saras Sarasvathy’s Academy of Management Review article “Effectuation and Causation\,” this year’s conference theme is: \n“Effectuation: The Next 25 Years” \nThe theme is intended less to constrain what participants submit and more to orient keynote and plenary conversations—and to provide shared prompts for pod discussions—as we take stock of the past 25 years of scholarship\, pedagogy\, and application and consider where effectuation can go next. Among others\, we will explore questions such as: \n\nWhat are the most important open research questions for effectuation research over the next 25 years?\nWhere should effectuation theory expand\, sharpen its boundaries\, or integrate with other perspectives in entrepreneurship scholarship—and where should it remain distinct?\nWhat new settings (ecosystems\, corporations\, the public sector\, NGOs\, …) require new constructs or principles—and which core ideas travel well?\nWhere do effectuation and other pedagogies overlap\, complement\, or contradict (e.g.\, design thinking\, lean startup\, the business model canvas\, discovery vs. creation\, …)?\nHow can we better connect effectuation scholarship on interaction and stakeholder commitments with practical approaches that entrepreneurs—and educators—can actually use?\nWhat is the role of effectuation in public policy\, entrepreneurship support\, and ecosystem development—what can it realistically deliver?\nHow does effectuation operate inside established organizations (intrapreneurship\, innovation units\, public agencies)\, and what changes when commitments are bureaucratic or political?\n\nCo-branded with ECSB and scheduled in tandem with the RENT Conference\, the 2026 Effectuation Conference will take place in Antwerp\, Belgium. \nIn the tradition of Effectuation Conference in past years\, the format will offer plenary sessions as well as small group research and practice “pods” where your submissions can be developed into full-fledged research articles and teaching materials. We will\, of course\, also enjoy the “effectual” dinner and debrief. \nMore information:  https://effectuation.org/2026-effectuation-conference

SUMMARY:RENT XL
DESCRIPTION:ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN AND FOR FAST-CHANGING WORLDS: Making the Future with Resilience\, Impact\, and Fairness \nThis year’s theme highlights the dual responsibility of entrepreneurship: to navigate fast-changing worlds with resilience and foresight while contributing to the creation of fairer\, more sustainable and hopeful futures. \nWe seek to critically examine how entrepreneurial action can (re)produce these dynamic contexts\, the ethical and societal implications of such actions\, and how entrepreneurs can embrace their potential as agents of positive impact. \nThe submission deadline is 15 MAY 2026.

SUMMARY:3E 2027 Conference
DESCRIPTION:SAIling the wave of entrepreneurial education \nExploring how artificial intelligence is reshaping entrepreneurship\, learning and decision-making. \nEntrepreneurship is entering a new phase shaped by the rapid diffusion of artificial intelligence. As AI technologies increasingly permeate economic and social systems\, they are not only transforming industries and business models\, but also reshaping the very foundations of entrepreneurial processes. From opportunity recognition to decision-making and venture development\, AI is redefining how entrepreneurship unfolds (Fossen et al.\, 2024). \nAI is opening new entrepreneurial possibilities\, supporting experimentation and helping entrepreneurs navigate increasingly complex environments. Yet\, even as it strengthens prediction and expands the range of possible actions\, it does not remove uncertainty from entrepreneurship. Rather\, it reshapes the conditions under which entrepreneurial judgment is formed\, leaving space for human interpretation\, creativity and choice. \nIn this evolving landscape\, entrepreneurship education faces a critical transition. AI is changing not only what entrepreneurship looks like\, but also how it can be learned and taught. This opens new questions for entrepreneurship education\, from the role of creativity and judgment to the ways learners engage with opportunities\, uncertainty and action in AI-shaped environments. \n3E 2027 invites participants to reflect on these changes and to explore what entrepreneurship education may become in a world where human and artificial intelligence increasingly interact. \nThrough its innovative and non-traditional format\, the 3E Conference offers a different way of coming together around entrepreneurship education. It creates a space for researchers\, educators\, practitioners and policymakers to exchange perspectives on the key challenges and emerging directions of the field\, with a distinctive European focus. Unlike conventional academic conferences\, 3E is centered on questions\, dialogue and critical reflection rather than on formal presentations of completed research. The conference follows an unplugged format\, designed to encourage genuine exchange and deeper discussion. Instead of slide-based presentations\, participants engage in roundtable conversations grounded in papers shared in advance. \n3E 2027 is for everyone interested in how entrepreneurship can be taught\, learned and supported in a rapidly changing world. It brings together people from academia\, education\, practice and policy who want to engage in an open and meaningful conversation on the present and future of entrepreneurship education. \nKey dates\nSubmission Deadline for Abstracts: 11 December 2026\nNotification of Acceptance: 31 January 2027\nDeadline for Final Contributions: 15 March 2027\nEarly-Bird Registration Deadline: 15 March 2027\nConference: 19-21 May 2027 \nVisit 3E 2027 Conference – ECSB Entrepreneurship Education Conference for more information.
