Associate Professor? Wondering about the next steps in your career? At a crossroads in your career? Thinking about seeking an administrative post? Or leading a research centre or taking on leadership roles in the academic community? Join us at the next David Smallbone Mid-Career Faculty Consortium! The European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ECSB) is offering a workshop for faculty who are at a mid-point in their academic career (at least 5 years of academic experience up to recent full professors) and who would appreciate advice and information about different career options after tenure. 

This Consortium features a panel of distinguished faculty. This year:

Maura McAdam

Maura McAdam

Maura is a full Professor of Management and the first Director of Entrepreneurship at Dublin City University. She is a nationally and internationally recognized scholar within the area of entrepreneurship having particular expertise in gender, entrepreneurial leadership, technology entrepreneurship and family business.

Steffen Korsgaard

Steffen Korsgaard

Steffen is Professor WSR at the University of Southern Denmark and Head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Relationship Management. He is also a Visiting Scholar at the University of Oslo and the latest appointed ECSB Fellow.

Possible discussion topics can be charting the path to full professor, service to school and profession (internal roles, within one’s institution, and external roles, within one’s academic community or in the larger practitioner community), role of editors, use of sabbaticals, leadership in professional organizations, changing institutions, executive education, conference organization, local versus global reputation building, administrative roles, working with doctoral students, launching a new or reorienting your research focus, and balancing mid-career demands. Informal presentations will be followed by Q&As and discussions.

This workshop will take place online, Monday 30 May at 2.00 pm CEST (1 hour approx.).
